MWB Charles R. Sherman: Grand Master in 1824
At the meeting of 1 May 1824, a committee was appointed to make arrangements for the Installation of the Lodge on 24 June, 1824, the following is transcribed from the minutes.
At a Special Communication for the purpose of Installing the of Meridian Sun Lodge No 69, Holden at Orson M. Oviatt's Hall and then adjourned to the Methodist Meeting house on the 24th Instant A.L. 5824.

This being the day appointed for the consecration of the Lodge and Installation of the Officers after the usual ceremonies a procession was formed which moved to the Methodist Meeting House where the ceremony of consecration & Installation was performed in due & ancient form by Rufus Ferris, Most Worshipful Grand Master who proceeded to Install; Isaac Welton W.M., Isaac M. Morgan S.W., Abraham Fresse J.W., Salmon Oviatt T., Marvin Oviatt Sec., Wyllys Welton S.D., Daniel Green J.D., Adoniram Swift & Daniel O’Brian Stewards, J’n Sheldon Tyler.
Brethren Present: Orson M. Oviatt, Nath’l Oviatt, F.A. Sprague, David Carter, Alva Sweet, John B. Stewart, Henry Hudson, Watrous Mather, Abel Woodward
Visiting Brethren: Wm. D. Marther, Darius Robinson, Seth Holcomb, Aron Sheppard, Aron Rojo, and Nath’l Farrow.
A Lodge of Entered Apprentice opened in due form. Proceedings of the Last communication read & approved. Adoniram Swift elected Steward. Lodge of Fellow Crafts opened in due form. Lodge of Master Masons opened in due form. Lodge of Master Masons closed in due form. Lodge of Fellow Crafts closed in due form. Lodge of Entered Apprentices closed in due form.
At meetings during the remainder of 1824, the Lodge voted to buy a Tyler’s sword, and furniture for the Lodge Hall. In November, Isaac Welton was re-elected Worshipful Master. He was also elected Master in 1825.
December 30, 1824: Motion & carried that the W.M. be empowered to loan money or otherwise for the purpose of defraying our yearly Annuity to the Grand Lodge.

April 1816, Richfield was formed from Boston Township & several other townships. Isaac was the first Master of Meridian Sun Lodge. He was one of the first officials of the township, he acted as a supervisor, and he was the first Justice of the Peace in Richfield and was Treasurer. Judge Isaac Welton came in 1812, cleared off the ground and sowed six acres of wheat. He then returned to Connecticut on foot and moved back here with his family in 1813. WB Isaac passed away shortly after he was elected as Master in November 1826.

March 23, 1825: On a motion, voted that two brethren be to inquire into the character of another brother.

4 November 1826: a Special Communication was called to conduct funeral services for Isaac Welton.
9 November 1826: Solomon Curtis was elected Worshipful Master and it was voted to procure a Bible for the use of the Lodge.
